my quake 3 config files: standard quake 3 osp mod

you may have to set "r_picmip 5" in console as this is reset to 1 when quake 3 detects a different video card in the system than expected by the config. to apply the r_picmip setting, type "vid_restart" in console.

official linux quake 3 supports oss sound only. there's a hack to dynamically link against a hacked sdl library that uses alsa backend:
